Need help identifying what capacitor to change in my central ac unit outside.

Ok, a lil background. I had my outdoor blower fan replaced a couple years ago and the tech said it would be good to replace the capacitor at the same time. No problems. Been working since no problem. NOW my outdoor cooling fan has trouble kick-starting. When my compressor goes off and the fan doesn't run, well, you all here prolly know what happens. My return gas line was hot almost hot enough to burn your hands and my circuit breaker tripped (thank god) I didn't lose any gas, I don't have a leak, but I when the fan has trouble kicking in i can get her going with a stick. This tells me it's a capacitor problem. It's supposed to give it an extra kick to start but sometimes it wont without the stick method. I'm pretty convinced its the capacitor, I went through every other troubleshooting first. In hindsight, I should of checked the stick method earlier, but the outdoor fins got a heck of a good cleaning when trying to figure out what was wrong. Here's my problem. I have 2 capacitors on this unit and was hoping one of you could identify the one that needs to be replaced for cold starting my ac. I'm a carpenter that understands OHMS law and am very confident doing small electrical jobs like adding plugs/lights. I have no problem changing breakers either. I also understand the dangers of the potential charge these capacitors can hold so I AM going to discharge the energy properly before attempting to replace. Here's my 2 capacitors. I'm guessing one is for the compressor and one is for the fan. which one should i replace

Room temperature is important for filling refrigerant ??

Hi, there

I have a question about the effects of room temperature while filling refrigerant.

In usual, we fill the refrigerant into chiller with room temp. 23 degree Celsius (C)

But some how, when room temp. became 21 degree(C), the pressure got too high inside the chiller.

When room temp. became 29 degree(C), the pressure of chiller is ok, but the temp. of compressor became higher (from 90 -> 95 degree (C))

how to solve these problem?? and why??

thank

Casper

Questions about walk-ins

Hello, all. My wife and I are in the planning stages of getting approval for a commercial kitchen in our basement – lots of hurdles.

We're thinking of getting two ~6×6 walk-ins, a freezer and a fridge, hopefully at auction. I realized, though, that I have very little idea of what I'm looking at ๐Ÿ™‚

Many of these are 7'6" tall. How much clearance do I need to reassemble it? My ceilings aren't much higher than that.

Can the boxes be remote cooled? If the city approved it, it would be fantastic to have the waste heat outside, rather than in the kitchen space. Is that something that the existing cooling system could be adapted to, or would I need to find a specific system designed to work that way? I'm positive I can't have one with the cooling unit on top, there's not enough clearance.

What else should I look for or avoid?

Thanks MPEDrummer

Anyone with experience working on Turbo Air makeup tables?

I was working on a Turbo Air makeup table MST 60-24. It was completely out of refrigerant upon my arrival. It holds a 15.5 oz charge of R134A, I added 11oz of R134a (I was gas charging to avoid liquid slugging). The high side was rising, but the low side barely hit atmospheric pressure (the high side was around 100 psig) before the compressor stalled and then hit LRA. The LRA is 9 amps, I hit 21.3 amps. Yes, I know the compressor locked up at that point.
The customer informed me that the previous company replace the cap tube, it was 1/8" o.d. I thought it was way oversized as for I've never seen such a large cap tube on a small system. I couldn't keep it running long enough to check anything else, i.e. Liquid restriction, bad compressor vales, etc. Anyone got any idea what size that cap tube should be? I think that had a lot to do with my issues.
