Flo-Con A82 pressure regulator replaced for third year in a row (need help – not a technician)

Hi everyone !

Not a technician here.. asking for help since our technician seems to be in a dead-end and does not speak english.

We do maintenance on a ice arena refrigeration system since 2 years now.

Last January we had to replace the two pressure regulators (Parker Flo-con A82) since they were stuck. Not working properly anymore.

The system is OFF for 6 months every year. (April to Septembre)

We got a call last week from the client. To our surprise, the two pressure regulators that were replaced last year are not working properly. They are stuck again and need to be replaced.

We also learn that those two pressure regulators have been replaced 3 years ago by an other company.. the year before we started doing maintenance for the client.

Refrigerant : R404 System is OFF during a period of 6 months

Pressure regulators are 2 5/8 Parker Flo-Con A82 – port : 16 – connection : 1 5/8

Anybody got any clue what could be cause the pressure regulators to broke / stuck every year ?

Let me know if pictures / videos are needed.

Thanks for your help

*Help* Mini Fridge won’t get cold enough.

*Help* Mini Fridge won't get cold enough.

Its set to 34° F, but doesn't get below 54° F. I bought it used so there isn't a warranty. The compressor and fans look to be working properly. Any idea what could be wrong? The evaporator coil seems to be getting pretty cold.

Large amount of water coming from refrigerator

Hello, I'm hoping for some help troubleshooting a fridge issue because online research keeps pointing me to the drip tray. Our garage refrigerator is leaking ~.5 gallons of water per day onto the floor. We tried checking the defrost tray… which was bone dry. Attempted to flush the drainage tube with warm water, no change. The fridge itself is working great. There is no condensation in the fridge or freezer. I wondered if this could be a door sealing issue but the amount of water has me scratching my head. Any ideas? Thanks for your help

Journeyman from calgary to montreal.

Hello

I am born in Montreal, but due to no being able to find a job with just a high school diploma i decided to move to Alberta in 2015.

In Montreal i worked as a commercial demolition labourer, they said that the journeyman wage was around 27.50 at the time but they would not sing me up for an apprenticeship cause the basin was full or something.(they just paid me cash and at the time i was younger and it was fine for me)

So in Alberta i found a job as an hvac tech and started to learn about heating and cooling, almost 5 years later i am a journeyman gas fitter B with red seal and a 4rth year refrigeration mechanic.

My parents are retiring and are pretty old now, i am in my late 20's and i feel like i have to go back to Montreal to help out with my family.

I mostly only do residential (new and old) installations, sales and service, but i do have some commercial and rooftop experience.

Whenever i search the web to see if any any journeyman has moved to Montreal Quebec and has successfully transferred journeyman tickets , there is never a clear answer. its always something along the lines of "your ticket is not valid here" "you must redo the apprenticeship" "you must write a french exam" and then others say, oh if you are red seal, Quebec does not recognize that, BUT on the red seal site it clearly does state that they do.

On the Alberta apprenticeship website , they should what tickets in other provinces are valid to transfer over to here, Frigoriste in Quebec gives you Refrigeration an ac mechanic and Gaz class 2 gives you gasfitter B.

My question is will i be able to work in residential in Quebec with my 2 red seal tickets(air conditioning heat pumps, splits, furnaces, boilers, hot water tanks, hrvs, on demand hot water tanks etc. because it seems most people are saying that it is for the ccq(construction), there is absolutely no info for non construction. i am also curious about if i am able to work in new construction even if i don't plan to.

If i were to want to open my own company, what would i need apart from an RBQ license.

i speak and write french, pretty well but i am unsure if the trade slang or names of parts is something i will know.

Any help is good for me, thank you for your time.
